Removed tons of scratches from acrylic fish tank May 21, 2010 M. Moore (LakeTahoe, California) This worked great on a number of things most notably a large acrylic fish tank. You do need to use pressure since you are essentially sanding out the scratches but the Novus 1,2,3 kit worked. It also restored the covers on my car headlamps that were looking dingy and yellowed. I highly recommend this product for removing scratches from acrylics.
Novus 1,2,3 Kit February 26, 2010 James R. Jenia (Temecula, California) Received it in just a few days, it worked really well, and was easy to use.
all-in-all, a great product.

wind shield looks 100% better than before.I used a buffing wheel hooked up to my drill. Now my wind shield looks almost brand new. This stuff works.
Plastic Headlights look like new! August 9, 2009 Average Joe (LV, NV) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I have a 2002 Nissan Altima and the headlights were starting to look foggy, so I did a quick google search and it led me to this product. Not much info was given about it, so I opted for the one with the 'cloth' and the bigger 8 oz. bottles. This product worked perfect, I just paid for more than I needed. Let me explain...
First off the 'cloth' is a glorified paper towel. DO NOT let that be a factor in your decision! I thought it would be a nice polishing cloth, sandpaper, or something worth while, but no... It's just a paper towel. If you find a cheaper option without it, go for it!
Second, the #3 bottle was useless. It is meant to take out 'bigger' scratches, but it didn't work for me. I used the three step process "as is" and saw no difference at all. What made the difference was sanding. I would not purchase the #3 bottle again.
I read that a good technique for sanding is to use 800, 1000, then 1500 grain sandpaper to prepare my headlights for this product. I also read it takes over 2 hours! Another opinion was that all you need to do is use 2000 grain sandpaper and that would save you time. I went that route. I had a little trouble finding the sandpaper as my local hardware store didn't carry it, but wally world had it in the auto section for about $3.
If you have deep scratches or any imperfections you can feel by touch I recommend getting a lower grain sandpaper to buff that out, then wet sanding (sanding with water) with either the 1500 or 2000. This will save you some time, but you could just use the higher grain sandpaper, it will just take longer.
After sanding your headlights, or whatever plastic you are working on, should have an even haze throughout. If you can still see the imperfections in the haze, repeat the sanding process until they are gone.
This is where the Bottle #2 comes in and works great! This is intended for small scratches, and will fill all the ones you just created by sanding perfectly. Apply this with a paper towel like you are applying wax to a car, then let it sit for a few minutes. There were no instructions on what to do with all this gunk #2 leaves behind, so I used the #1 bottle to wash it off.
When I cleaned it off I was left with crystal clear plastic! It was AMAZING! I could still see a few imperfections, but they were only left behind because I didn't sand deep enough to get them out.
Good
+ #2 bottle works wonders!
Bad
- Paper towel advertised as a cloth
- #3 bottle useless (for me at least)
- #1 bottle could easily be replaced by windex or any other plastic friendly cleaner of your choice.
- 8 oz. was way too much for me
This product did exactly what I wanted it to do! My headlights look clear as crystal! I hope this review helps other people to pick what they need for their project.
A Plastic Polish? Don't Use on any items with plastic Display June 8, 2009 R. Vance 0 out of 5 found this review helpful
For compact discs, this may work. But use caution if you must need to get scratches out of things that use some type of display for information such as a stereo face plate or home electronics that have a plastic display. The product really works by sanding down the material, thus more scratches. On a compact disc, this is acceptable due to the many layers in the plastic. Bottom line, it is of course a mild abrasive and should not be used on plastic displays. I would even be skeptical if it works on plastic winshields. I wrote the company and am awaiting a response. The Better Business Burea shows on their site the company does not respond to the telephone numbers listed or the address given.
